The Sabina Lee Gallery is pleased to announce "House Bound", a group show.  Housebound features sculpture, painting and drawings by six artists - two from Los Angeles, three from New York and one from Atlanta.  With home ownership held as the goal of all Americans, this exhibit focuses on the psychological ramifications of property.  "Every man's home is his castle" is supposed to indicate that homes are protection from outside forces. All too often, though, the castle is also imprisoning.  The work selected for this exhibit addresses both aspects of architecture with wit.

Wendy Hirschberg's sculpture takes "home" and turns it into a Piranesi structure of dead ends and sharp edges.

Ann-Marie Manker takes "home" and turns it into a pet carrier.

Colin Keefe takes "home" and multiplies it in dizzying array.

Alison Owen takes thread and sequins and turns them into modernist architecture.

Christina Muraczewski takes IKEA furniture and makes them suitable for home or prison.

Elaine Chow observes shadows cast by curtains with the persistent focus of the housebound.

The resulting show, Housebound, is both elegant and ironic.  The show is curated by Mery Lynn McCorkle.
